Internal Client-Server VPNs in which clients establish VPN tunnels directly to a local or remote server, thereby protecting sensitive traffic from unauthorized access by internal users |
|
|
|
Extranet VPNs in which key partners or customers can establish secure connections directly with extranet application servers |
|
End-to-end VPNs encrypt traffic for the entire path between client and server, as compared to site-to-site VPNs in which traffic might be left unencrypted for the last segment of the path between the VPN gateway and the application server.
Foundation for
VPN-1 SecureClient Policy Servers
VPN-1 SecureServer may be installed as the foundation for VPN-1 SecureClient
Policy Servers. VPN-1 SecureServer provides a cost-effective way to fulfill
the requirement that machines acting as VPN-1 SecureClient Policy Servers be
VPN-enabled. This capability is especially useful for organizations
deploying two or more Policy Servers in a backup configuration

FireWall-1 SecureServer

Firewall Protection
for Individual Servers
Check Point FireWall-1 SecureServer protects a single server within the
corporate network or DMZ with cost-effective, enterprise-class network
security. Using the same patented Stateful Inspection as the market-leading
FireWall-1, FireWall-1 SecureServer provides the following security
capabilities for individual machines:
Access Control - Protects critical application servers, such as financial applications systems, from unauthorized internal access and/or external intrusion
Authentication - Verifies the identities of users attempting to communicate with the server using one of several supported authentication schemes
Logging, Auditing and Alerting - Maintains information on user and administrator activities and notifies security managers of suspicious events
Like FireWall-1, FireWall-1 SecureServer supports over 150 network applications and services out of the box. This powerful solution also protects against common attacks such as SYN attacks.
Centralized Management
FireWall-1 SecureServer enables server-level security to be managed within
the context of the enterprise security policy. Like FireWall-1 and VPN-1
gateway solutions, FireWall-1 SecureServer is an enforcement point that is
managed centrally. Policy changes are made once using the Check Point
Management Console, and then are deployed simultaneously to all VPN-1 and
FireWall-1 enforcement points, including gateways and servers. User
information is also managed centrally, either within FireWall-1 or in an
external LDAP-based directory.
