In addition, VPN-1 Appliance protects internal network resources from external threats with Check Point Software's complete enterprise security suite. And with centralized management, on-site security expertise is not required to define and manage a comprehensive security policy.

Enterprise Security with Virtual Private Networking

VPN-1 Appliance includes Check Point's market-leading FireWall-1 enterprise security suite delivering access control, authentication, network address translation, content security, traffic logging, and much more. Unified by Check Point's OPSEC (Open Platform for Security), VPN-1 Appliance provides a robust policy management framework for centralized security management and seamless integration of third-party applications.

Unique to Check Point's VPN-1 solutions, VPN-1 Appliance allows organizations to define and deploy enterprise VPNs as part of an overall, comprehensive enterprise security policy. Each element of the security policy is applied to all data, including VPN traffic, to guarantee that network security is never compromised. And because VPN-1 Appliance includes a free VPN-1 SecuRemote license, organizations can extend their enterprise VPN to desktop and laptop users. VPN interoperability with business partners is ensured by adherence to industry-standard protocols, such as DES and IPSec.

True Centralized Management

VPN-1 Appliance is the ideal solution for satellite offices that need Internet access, but lack the on-site expertise to maintain an IP router and manage a comprehensive security policy. The centralized management capability of VPN-1 Appliance enables routing and network security to be safely and effectively managed from a single console. VPN-1 Appliance security policies are managed by Check Point's Enterprise Management Console, or by a VPN-1 Appliance Management Console which is available separately from Check Point.

When multiple VPN-1 Appliance devices are deployed in an enterprise network any change to the organization's security policy is automatically distributed to each location. No intervention by local network administrators is required. And for maximum security, all communications between the Management Console and VPN-1 Appliance are encrypted.

High-Performance IP Routing

The VPN-1 Appliance includes a suite of routing protocols to meet the needs of all organizations and provide an integrated Internet access solution. Support for additional routing algorithms is available through add-on modules. VPN-1 Appliance also includes Voyager - an HTTP-based application enabling full management, monitoring, and configuration of VPN-1 Appliance routing from any authorized location within the network using a standard Web browser.

Out-of-the-box integration of IP routing software with Check Point's VPN-1 security software provides a cost-effective and easily to deploy Internet access solution. With VPN-1 Appliance, network managers can provide secure Internet connectivity to all locations throughout their network with a single, integrated product.
